From Public Health, Seattle & King County:

Beginning March 1, 2022, an updated version of the Washington State Food Code took effect. Public Health – Seattle & King County’s Food Protection Program created a new Food Code updates webpage that covers what to expect and includes a series of factsheets to clearly explain the changes. Updates to the food code include date marking, vomit and diarrhea cleanup plans, employee health (informing the person in charge) and more.

These food code changes took effect March 1, 2022. The Certified Food Protection Manager requirement will take effect March 1, 2023. The code changes are reflected on our new food code webpage.
